What about the tow bill?

The tow bill is usually covered by the insurance company when ordered by the police at an accident scene. However, if you do not have collision coverage and were at fault, you are responsible for the tow and storage charges.

Guaranty Auto's tow rates are $90.00 per tow and $20.00 per day storage in 24-hour increments from the time the tow was requested by the police department.

If you - not the insurance companies - are responsible for tow and storage charges, we will exchange the storage charges (currently up to 7 business days) in lieu of the title to the vehicle if you wish to dispose of it. The tow charge of $90.00 remains due and payable. No "disposal fee" would apply if title exchanged in the 7 business days. (We mention this because some other companies will charge you a disposal fee. You should know that they actually get paid to dispose of your vehicle at an average cost of $150.00 which is why we offer this. Our intention is to be honest and not gouge or deceive any customer with what we consider outrageous charge.) However, after 7 business days the offer is not valid and storage rates would apply - we can't legally dispose of your vehicle without the title so we can't offer to 'lose' money at a later date if you decline the offer.
