NOTE TO OWNERS OF VEHICLES THAT HAVE BEEN TOWED DUE TO AN ACCIDENT (Police Ordered):

Tow and storage charges are usually covered by either your insurance company (if you have collision coverage) or the insurance company of the party at fault in the accident.  The exceptions to this include single vehicle accidents where the driver/insured does not have collision coverage and 3rd party claims (in which the tow and storage charges are included in your settlement check which means you would pay us instead of the insurance company).

We CAN NOT release a vehicle for salvage until you sign our tow slip releasing the vehicle to either your insurance company or a salvage yard.

IF YOUR VEHICLE IS REPAIRED AT CLINTON COLLISION CENTER OR GUARANTY AUTO THERE ARE NO STORAGE FEES TO YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. (ALL insurance companies honored under this policy.)

Contents of any vehicle, regardless of the reason for the tow, will ONLY be released to the vehicle's REGISTERED OWNER.  This means if you are borrowing uncle John's car and it is towed to our facility, ONLY uncle John can claim the contents.  Vehicle owner's MUST SIGN FOR contents removed from their vehicles and must stop in the office first to gain access to their vehicle.  We know it's your vehicle however, these policies ensure that your contents and vehicle are safe, secure and that access to your vehicle is only granted to YOU, the OWNER.  It also helps us in that it reduces drastically the number of claims by vehicle owners and drivers that there are contents missing from the vehicle.  NOTE THAT ALL VEHICLE CONTENTS ARE INVENTORIED BY THE CLINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT - NOT GUARANTY AUTO EMPLOYEES.

IT IS UNLAWFUL TO ABANDON A VEHICLE IN MASSACHUSETTS

ALL towed vehicles must either:

• A. Be removed from our lot,
• B. Repaired by our facility, or
• C. Have title turned over for proper disposal by Guaranty Auto

Outstanding Obligations
Please note that you will not receive an RMV-2 if you have any unpaid parking tickets, excise tax bills, abandoned vehicle citations, or outstanding child support obligations or warrants. All unpaid tickets and outstanding obligations/warrants must be cleared through the issuing agency before a registration can be renewed.

* If you have any outstanding parking tickets, excise tax bills or abandoned vehicle citations, you must obtain releases from the city or town involved. You must present the original releases to renew.
* If you have an outstanding warrant, you must obtain a recall notice from the court that issued the warrant. You must present the original recall notices to renew.
* If you have any outstanding child support obligations, you must obtain releases from the Department of Revenue. The telephone number is 1-800-332-2733. You must present the original releases to renew.

If you have no outstanding obligations and your address is correct on our system but you did not receive an RMV-2, you should contact your insurance agent who can give you an Application to Renew (RMV-3). The RMV-3 must be completed, stamped and signed by your insurance agent before renewing. VEHICLE IMPOUND

In the event that your vehicle has been impounded by the police department, the following is a general guideline of the necessary paperwork you will need in order to claim your vehicle.

TO RELEASE A VEHICLE YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:

Valid Driver's License or Government Issued Photo Identification Card (passport, military ID card, state issued ID card)

Proof of Ownership – Vehicle title, Vehicle Registration, Bill of Sale, Valid Insurance policy

All fees are to be paid in Cash / Visa / MasterCard

If a "Hold" has been placed on your vehicle by any police agency, you must obtain a release from that agency before the vehicle can be released.

NOTE:  WE CAN NOT RELEASE ANY VEHICLE TO ANYONE EXCEPT THE VEHICLE'S REGISTERED OWNER.

WE ALSO CAN NOT RELEASE CONTENTS OF ANY VEHICLE TO ANYONE EXCEPT THE VEHICLE'S REGISTERED OWNER.

 License plates are NOT released until we have been paid for the tow, MA DOT Fuel Surcharge and storage accrued that are considered abandoned, are impounded by the Police or a 'total loss' by the insurance company.

RATES AND FEES:

$90.00 Tow

MA DOT Fuel Surcharge (% changes monthly and is updated by the MA DOT).  October, 2010 rate is 3.5% of Tow and any additional labor.

Outside Storage: $20.00/day

EFFECTIVE 11/8/2010:  OUTSIDE STORAGE RATES INCREASE TO $35.00/day  (MA Bill Number: H3862)

Extra Labor:  $32 (non commercial vehicles) and $35 (commercial vehicles) per half hour or any fraction thereof past the first hour.

Winching: $40 starting rate

Mileage: $3.50 per mile.  First 5 miles at no charge.
